Abstract THE OXIDES OF NITROGEN CONTENT OF A GAS STREAM CAN BE REDUCED BY CONTACTING THE GAS STREAM WITH A CATALYST CONSISTING ESSENTIALLY OF NEODYMIUM OXIDE AND BARIUM OXIDE ON A SUITABLE SUPPORT AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURES. THE CATALUSTS ARE ESPECIALLY USEFUL IN REDUCING THE NITRIC OXIDE CONTENT OF THE EXHAUST GAS OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES.
