Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 53 words
A method of heating a hollow open end tubular thermoplastic parison to orientation temperature comprising: introducing said parison into a radiant heating zone to apply radiant heat to the outside thereof; affirmatively applying heat to the interior of said parison; and removing said thus-heated parison from said heating zone while at orientation temperature.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 53 words
A method of heating a hollow open end tubular thermoplastic parison to orientation temperature comprising: introducing said parison into a radiant heating zone to apply radiant heat to the outside thereof; affirmatively applying heat to the interior of said parison; and removing said thus-heated parison from said heating zone while at orientation temperature.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 25 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein said heat is applied to said interior by circulating hot air axially through said interior of said parison.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 23 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein said heat is applied to said interior of said parison from an internally disposed heat source.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 21 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein said radiant heating zone is in a circulating air oven having radiant heating panels.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 24 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein said parison is made of polypropylene and is heated to a temperature within the range of 310*-330*F.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 18 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein said parisons are rotated about their longitudinal axis during said heating.
