Abstract BORATED POLYAMIDES ARE DISCLOSED WHICH ARE THE REACTION OF BORA WITH A POLYMERIC FAT ACID POLYAMIDE RESIN. THESE BORATED PRODUCTS ARE USEFUL AS BINDERS FOR INKS, PARTICULARLY WATER BASED PRINTING LINKS, OR OTHER APPLICATIONS WHERE A WATER-BORNE FILM FORMING VEHICLE IS DESIRED. THE POLYAMIDE RESINS EMPLOYED IN THE BORATION ARE RELATIVELY HIGH ACID NUMBER THERMOPLASTIC RESINS.
