Abstract

Abstract The bearing surface of one relatively rotatable member of a friction bearing is grit blasted to give it a roughened surface. A reservoir containing lubricant having entrained particles of anti-galling material is connected to the friction bearing and serves as a source of anti-galling material. Particles of the anti-galling material are picked up by the roughened surface and a film of anti-galling material formed on the bearing surface.
