Abstract

Abstract A suction drainage device having a drainage collector chamber for connection to a pleural cavity, a series liquid seal chamber connecting the collector chamber with a pressure regulating manometer chamber, and a second manometer connected to the collector chamber in by-passing relation with the seal chamber having calibrations providing an indication of the pressure within the collector chamber, the pressure regulating chamber being connectable through a restricted orifice to the source of negative pressure to reduce the bubbling of air through the reservoir portion of the manometer.
