Abstract

Abstract An improved control apparatus is utilized with a machine tool having side and end turrets. Each of the turrets is moveable along either one of two axes. This control apparatus is operable in response to command signals from a stored program or from manual data inputs to effect movement of either one of the turrets while the other turret remains parked or stationary. The control apparatus includes a single function generator and two discriminators or position error signal generators, each of which is selectably switched between one position servoloop associated with the side turret and one position servoloop associated with the end turret. Switching may be initiated either by command signals from a stored program or from manual data inputs.
