Abstract
Abstract Image intensifier brightness for both cine and fluoroscopic use is controlled by varying X-ray tube filament current. In cine operation, brightness is integrated over each time interval that the camera shutter is opened, and, while the shutter is next closed, the integral is compared with a standard. Comparison output current controls X-ray tube filament curent. In fluoroscopic operation, a signal proportional to brightness is continuously compared to a standard and the X-ray tube filament current is varied in accordance with the comparison.
