Abstract NEW COMPOUNDS WHICH ARE REACTIVE WITH HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IN THE PRESENCE OF A SOLVENT AND A FLUORESCER TO PRODUCE VISIBLE CHEMILUMINESCENT LIGHT. THE LIGHT CAPACITY OF THE ELECTRONEGATIVELY SUBSTITUTED CARBOXYPHENYL OXALATE REACTION IS SUPERIOR TO THAT OF THE SIMILARLY ELECTRONEGATIVELY SUBSTITUTED PHENYL OXALATE REACTION.
