Abstract
Abstract A liquid crystal display in which a layer of liquid crystal material is confined between a pair of spaced parallel substrates. A common electrode is deposited on one of the substrates, and a plurality of independent conductive spots are deposited on the interior face of the other of the substrates opposite to the common electrode. Electrical field producing means are provided for inducing a voltage in a selected conductive spot in order to excite the liquid crystal material between the selected conductive spot and the common electrode.
