Abstract A reinforced laminate construction utilizing a sheet-like flexible fibrous or porous matrix whose interstices are impregnated with a resin selected from the group consisting of vinylidene fluoride homopolymers, copolymers and terpolymers applied from a liquid carrier.

A method of forming a polyvinylidene fluoride liner comprising the steps of impregnating at least one sheet of a flexible porous matrix with polyvinylidene fluoride resin dispersed in a liquid carrier such that the pickup by the matrix is substantially at least 30 percent by weight of resin, and applying the impregnated matrix in face-to-face adherent disposition with the surface of a substrate.

The method of claim 7 whereby the liner includes a plurality of matrix plies to define a multilayer laminate, each ply being dried at elevated temperature below the melting point of the polyvinylidene fluoride until substantially all of the liquid carrier is expelled, and then coadhering the plies together at elevated temperature and pressure.
