Device for producing x-ray pictures of temporomandibular joint

Claim 1

An auxiliary device for producing dental X-ray pictures of the human temporomandibular joint, comprising a bracket, a film holder fixed on said bracket, means for securing said bracket together with said film holder to an X-ray machine, said securing means being fixed on said bracket in a position opposite to and spaced from said film holder, adjustable stop means mounted on said bracket intermediate said securing means and said film holder for positioning the device with respect to a human cranium, said adjustable stop means comprises an axially elongated bolt member mounted on said bracket and arranged relative to said bracket to be displaceable in its axial direction and to be lockable, a contact disc secured to said bolt, said bracket has an arcuate configuration shaped to pass around a portion of the human cranium in taking X-ray pictures of the temporomandibular joint, said means for securing said bracket to an X-ray machine secured to one end of said bracket and said film holder secured to the opposite end of said bracket, said bolt member passing through said bracket so that its axis extends transversely of the line extending between said means for securing said bracket and said film holder, and said contact disc located on the concave side of said arcuate bracket.
