Abstract
Abstract A pair of overlaying skis are held together by a strap wrapped around the skis and by slipping the rear edges through an opening in another strap which serves the additional function of a hand or shoulder strap for carrying the skis. The carrier may also have openings for accommodating the pointed ends of ski poles which can then be conveniently carried along with the skis.

A hand carrier for skis, comprising: a first strap extending parallel to the ski length containing near one end a lengthwise slit through the strap having a length approximating the width dimension of the skis for receiving the rear edges of a pair of overlaying skis and a cross slot through the strap at each end of the slit whereby when the rear edges of the skis are inserted through the slit the strap material opens in swinging-door fashion; and a second strap attached to the other end of said first strap for wrapping around the width of the overlaying skis.

A hand carrier for skis, comprising: a first strap extending parallel to the ski length containing near one end a lengthwise slit through the strap having a length approximating the width dimension of the skis for receiving the rear edges of a pair of overlaying skis and a cross slot through the strap at each end of the slit whereby when the rear edges of the skis are inserted through the slit the strap material opens in swinging-door fashion; and a second strap attached to the other end of said first strap for wrapping around the width of the overlaying skis.

The invention as in claim 1 wherein said first strap contains a circular opening located outside each slot for holding the pointed tip of a ski pole.

The invention as set forth in claim 2 wherein the first strap comprises: a narrow section attached at its other end to said second strap for use as a shoulder or hand carrying strap; and a wider section attached to its one end of said narrow section, said wider section containing the openings.
