Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim 72 words
A silencer band for mounting on a rim portion of a rotor, comprising an elongated strip of elastomeric material, a plurality of lead members fastened to said strip at spaced apart locations thereon and protruding outwardly from the surface thereof, and fastening means mounted to one end of said strip for fastening engagement with an intermediate portion of said strip when said strip is stretched around the rim portion of a rotor.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 72 words
A silencer band for mounting on a rim portion of a rotor, comprising an elongated strip of elastomeric material, a plurality of lead members fastened to said strip at spaced apart locations thereon and protruding outwardly from the surface thereof, and fastening means mounted to one end of said strip for fastening engagement with an intermediate portion of said strip when said strip is stretched around the rim portion of a rotor.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 21 words
A silencer band according to claim 1 wherein said lead members are insertable in and removable from holes in said strip.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 26 words
A silencer band according to claim 2 wherein said lead members each have head portions at each end connected by an intermediate portion of reduced diameter.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 20 words
A silencer band according to claim 3 wherein said lead members are elongated in the longitudinal direction of said strip.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 34 words
A silencer band according to claim 1 wherein said fastening means comprises a U-shaped hook including a leg for insertion between said intermediate portion of said strip and the adjacent portion of said rim.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 28 words
A silencer band according to claim 5 wherein the thickness of said leg is greater than the distance said lead members extend from the surface of said strip.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 12 words
A silencer band according to claim 6 wherein said leg is knurled.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 27 words
A silencer band according to claim 1 wherein said fastening means includes a hook-shaped member pivotably mounted to said strip about an axis transverse to said strip.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 18 words
A silencer band according to claim 1 wherein said lead members protrude from both sides of said strip.
Claim 11
Independent Claim 77 words
A method of dampening vibrations in a rotating rotor, comprising stretching a resilient band to which lead pieces are affixed at spaced apart intervals around the rim of said rotor with said lead pieces in engagement with said rim, overlapping one end portion of said band with the other end portion, and connecting said other end of said band to an intermediate portion of said band to secure said band in said stretched condition on said rim.
Claim 12
Independent Claim 77 words
A method of dampening vibrations in a rotating rotor, comprising stretching a resilient band to which lead pieces are affixed at spaced apart intervals around the rim of said rotor with said lead pieces in engagement with said rim, overlapping one end portion of said band with the other end portion, and connecting said other end of said band to an intermediate portion of said band to secure said band in said stretched condition on said rim.
