Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim 40 words
In the propagation of energy over distances greater than approximately 200 wavelengths in imperfectly-conducting metallic waveguide, the improvement for reduction of wall-loss attenuation comprising propagating the energy through generally circular corrugated waveguide of such length in the hybrid HE11 mode.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 40 words
In the propagation of energy over distances greater than approximately 200 wavelengths in imperfectly-conducting metallic waveguide, the improvement for reduction of wall-loss attenuation comprising propagating the energy through generally circular corrugated waveguide of such length in the hybrid HE11 mode.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 36 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the corrugated waveguide has a ratio of the inner radius to the radius in grooves forming the corrugations between approximately 0.65 and approximately 0.8 to discriminate against higher propagation modes.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 18 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the inner radius of the waveguide is between 0.67 and 1.3 wavelengths.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 20 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the corrugations of the guide are of a depth between 0.28 and 0.38 wavelength.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 22 words
The method of claim 4 wherein the corrugations of the guide are formed by grooves of width between one-third and one-fifth wavelength.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 17 words
The method of claim 5 wherein adjacent grooves are spaced by less than one-eighth the groove width.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 31 words
The method of claim 6 wherein the ratio of the inner radius of the waveguide to the radius in the grooves forming the corrugations is between approximately 0.65 and approximately 0.8.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 11 words
The method of cLaim 7 wherein said ratio is approximately 0.7.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 36 words
A generally circular finite-conductivity metallic waveguide for low-loss hybrid HE11 transmission having closely spaced internal grooves of depth between one-quarter and one-half its inner radius and of a length exceeding one hundred times its inner diameter.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 36 words
A generally circular finite-conductivity metallic waveguide for low-loss hybrid HE11 transmission having closely spaced internal grooves of depth between one-quarter and one-half its inner radius and of a length exceeding one hundred times its inner diameter.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 20 words
The waveguide of claim 9 wherein the spacing between adjacent grooves is less than one-eighth the width of the grooves.
