Abstract ALKYL-SULFOXIDE AND ALKYL-SULFONE TERMINATED OLIGOMERS, PREPARED BY ADDITION POLYMERIZATION OF MONOMER IN PRESENCE OF A MERCAPTAN, FOLLOWED BY OXIDATION. OLIGOMERS USED AS EMULSIFIERS IN THE EMULSION POLYMERIZATION OF ONE OR MORE MONOMERS TO PRODUCE RUBBER OR PLASTIC LATEXES FROM WHICH SOLID POLYMERS CAN BE OBTAINED.
