Abstract
Abstract A shock absorbent layered combination of materials, comprising: an outer layer possessing a tensile strength of between 104 and 106 pounds per square inch and an elastic modulus of between 105 and 108 pounds per square inch; and a deformable inner layer rigidly adhered to said outer layer, wherein the material constituting said outer layer possesses both a higher tensile strength and a higher elastic modulus than the material constituting said inner layer.
