Abstract
Abstract COPOLYMERS OF VINYL FERROCENE AND BUTADIENE ARE DISCLOSED ALONG WITH THE PROCEDURE FOR PREPARATION. THE COPOLYMERS ARE USEFUL AS A BURNING RATE CATALYST AND PROVIDE A MEANS FOR INTRODUCING AND MAINTAINING A HIGH CATALYST CONCENTRATION IN SOLID PROPELLANTS INASMUCH AS THE COPOLYMER CONTAINING THE IRON CATALYST IS CAPABLE OF SERVING AS THE BINDER REPLACING PART OF THE NORMALLY USED BINDERS IN SOLID PROPELLANTS. ALSO DISCLOSED IS A TYPICAL SOLID PROPELLANT COMPOSITION UTILIZING THE COPOLYMERS OF THIS INVENTION AS A BINDER REPLACEMENT AND BURNING RATE CATALYST.
