Abstract
Abstract A cylinder arrangement for offset and similar printing presses which permits printing on one or both sides. A rubber cylinder is rotatably supported at its ends in eccentric bushings and the bushings are rotatably mounted within pivotally displaceable side plates. By pivoting the side plates, the rubber cylinder can be positioned for printing on one or both sides. In addition, the eccentric bushings can be rotated for moving the rubber cylinder between an operative and an inoperative position when the rubber cylinder is arranged for printing on one or on both sides.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
62 words
A cylinder arrangement, as set forth in claim 1, characterized therein by a shoulder formed on each of said shafts and each of said shoulders located in a different one of the openings in said machine frame containing said worm drives, and means positioned within each of the openings in said machine frame for biasing said worm drive against said shoulder therein.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
99 words
A cylinder arrangement, as set forth in claim 1, characterized in that said means for moving said rubber cylinder between an operative position and an inoperative position comprises a piston cylinder assembly secured to at least one of said side plates, a lever secured to said eccentric bushing positioned within said one of said side plates to which said piston assembly is secured, said piston assembly comprising a cylinder, a piston axially movable within said cylinder and said piston attached at its end remote from said cylinder to said lever for rotating said eccentric bushing within said side plate.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
197 words
A cylinder arrangement, as set forth in claim 1, characterized in that said means for limiting the movement of said rubber cylinder between its operative position and inoperative position comprises a first cam and a second cam disposed in angularly spaced arrangement on the outer periphery of said eccentric bushing, two pair of angularly spaced stop members being arranged with one pair for each of said first cam and said second cam, in each pair of said stop members one of the stop members being mounted on said side plate and the other said stop member being mounted on said machine frame whereby as said means for moving said rubber cylinder rotates it into the position for printing on one side said first cam is angularly displaceable between one said pair of stop members and said second cam is displaced from engagement with the other said pair of stop members and when said rubber cylinder is in the position for printing on both sides said second cam is angularly displaceable between the other said pair of stop members while said first cam is displaced so that it does not contact the one said pair of stop members.
