Abstract
Abstract EQUAL WEIGHT PARTS OF SODIUM HYDROXIDE, CALCIUM HYDROXIDE AND WATER ARE ADDED TO MOTHER LIQUOR WHICH IS ALREADY PREGNANT WITH SODIUM CHLORIDE AND CALCIUM HYPOCHLORITE. CHLORINE GAS IS INTRODUCED INTO THIS MIXTURE UNDER AGITATION. THIS WILL PRODUCE SMALL SIZE CRYSTALS OF CALCIUM HYPOCHLORITE AND LARGE SIZE CRYSTALS OF SODIUM CHLORIDE WHICH CAN THEN BE READILY SEPARATED BECAUSE OF THIS SIZE DIFFERENCE.
