Abstract A METHOD OF MAUFACTURING A CARBON ARTICLE COMPRISES TREATING AN ARTICLE MADE OF AN ACRYLIC MATERIAL WITH A SOLUTION CONTAINING FREE HYDROXYLAMINE AND SUBSEQUENTLY PYROLYSING THE TREATED ARTICLE. THE INVENTION IS PARTICULARLY USEFUL IN THE PRODUCTION OF CARBON FIBRES.
