Claim 1
Independent Claim
212 words
A miter corner construction having three frame members and a three-branched coacting connector clip therein, said frame members being in mutual right angular relation and operatively mated at adjacent miter ends, each of said frame members having two spaced parallel longitudinally extending ribs, each of the three branches of said clip being positioned between the pair of ribs of the corresponding frame member, the lateral edges of said branches having notched portions therein, said ribs having sections thereof extending into said respective notched portions of adjacent branches and other sections in overlying engagement with the respective adjacent branches, whereby the frame members and the connector clip are held locked against movement relative to each other both longitudinally and transversely normal to their respective planes, each frame member having two lateral longitudinally extending walls in right-angled relation, each of said walls having thereon one of said ribs, each of said branches having two lateral longitudinally extending walls in right-angled relation and in engagement with corresponding ones of said frame member''s walls, said branches each having a bottom surface between said longitudinally extending walls which is in engagement with the corresponding one of said frame members between the ribs thereof, the lateral edges of said branches'' walls having therein the said respective notched portions.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
29 words
A miter corner construction according to claim 1, the said rib sections being swedged transversely inwardly into said respective notched portions and in overlying relation to said respective branches.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
56 words
A miter corner construction according to claim 2, the pair of ribs of each of said frame members defining therebetween a longitudinal cavity, said branches being disposed within said respective cavities, the height of said ribs other than said swedged sections thereof being greater than the thickness of the adjacent clip branches and thereby extending thereabove.
