Abstract THE INVENTION COMPRISES A METHOD FOR REMOVING METAL CATIONS FROM SOLUTION IN NITRILES BY CONTACTING SUCH SOLUTIONS WITH ANHYDROUS AMMONIA. THE METHOD IS PARTICULARLY USEFUL FOR PURIFICATION OF PRODUCT STREAMS IN THE HYDROCYANATION OF OLEFINS TO PRODUCE NITRILES.
