Abstract POLYAMIDES ARE OBTAINED FROM THE REACTION OF AN OLIGIMERIC BIS-IMIDE AND A SULFIDE SUCH AS HYDROGEN SULFIDE, AN ORGANIC DITHIOL, OR MIXTURES OF SUCH SULFIDES IN THE PRESENCE OF A PORTTON DONOR. THESE POLYMERIC COMPOSITIONS HAVE USES IN PACKAGING AND MOLDING APPLICATIONS, AS INSULATING MATERIALS, AND AS MEMBRANES FOR THE SEPARATION OF GASES.
