Abstract
Abstract A process for the production of a synthesis gas and a light olefin which comprises simultaneously contacting an organic feed material containing at least 10 weight percent oxygen and a normally liquid hydrocarbon feedstock with steam in the presence of an alkali metal carbonate catalyst at an elevated temperature.
