Abstract
Abstract Diethyl cyanomethyl phosphonate can be used to inhibit and/or prevent the growth of undesirable algae, bacteria, fungi, yeast, and other microorganisms. This invention is particularly concerned with the bacteriostatic and bactericidal properties of diethyl cyanomethyl phosphonate compounds against species of Proteus, Salmonella, Shigella, Staphylococcus and Xanthomonas.
