Abstract CORROSION OF METAL SURFACESIN C ONTACT WITH THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING HALOGENATED HYDROCARBON FLAME RETARDANTS IS SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCED BY THE ADDITION OF ORGANOTIN SALTS OF MERCAPTO-SUBSTITUTED C ARBOXYLIC ACIDS. COLOR OF THE POLYMER COMPOSITION IS IMPROVED BY THE USE OF ORGANOTIN SALTS OF OLEFINICALLY UNSATURATED DIACIDS. INCLUSION OF BOTH TYPES OF ORGANOTIN COMPOUNDS BOTH INHIBITS CORROSION AND STABILIZES POLYMER COLOR.
