Abstract A CATALYTIC COMPOSITE COMPRISING A MORDENITE COMPONENT HAVING A SIO2/AL2/3 MOLE RATIO OF AT LEAST 40:1 PREPARED BY ACID EXTRACTING AL2O3 FROM MORDENITE PREPARED WITH AN INITIAL SIO2/AL2O3 MOLE RATIO OF ABOUT 12:1 TO ABOUT 30:1 AND A METAL COMPONENT SELECTED FROM COPPER, SILVER AND ZIRCONIUM. THE COMPOSITE IS PARTICULARLY USEFUL FOR THE TRANSALKYLATION OF ALKYLAROMATIC HYDROCARBONS AND THE ALKYLATION OF AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS.
