Abstract
Abstract The high-polymeric filament thread is relaxed by being passed over the convexed sides of the heating element as well as over an upper stationary roll and a lower rotating roll. Each winding of the thread in this relaxing zone is heated so as to cause relaxation without allowing any substantial cooling down of the thread. The thread tension is reduced about the rotating roll so as to maintain the thread tension below the tension caused by relaxation of the thread. The thread is delivered from the relaxing zone at a tension slightly higher than the initial tension as supplied to the relaxing zone.
