Abstract

Abstract Current is supplied to a load through a first transistor. A pair of diodes series connected across the load senses the load voltage. When this voltage exceeds the desired level--the voltage threshold for conduction through the pair of diodes, they place a shunt path across the emitter-to-base circuit of the transistor. This reduces the transistor base current, causing less current to flow to the load and reducing the voltage across the load to the desired level.
