Abstract

Abstract An image intensifier camera tube of the type having an image intensifier section for accelerating photoemitted electrons to average energies greater than 1000 electron volts and for focusing the accelerated electrons to one face of a charge storage target which is scanned on its other face by an electron beam. The improvement comprises a buffer layer of chromium on the one face of the target on which the accelerated electrons impinge.
