Abstract
Abstract In the alkali-catalyzed reaction of an alkylene oxide with an active hydrogen compound, the rate of the reaction is increased by the presence of a cyclic polyether having at least four ether groups. Preferred polyethers are those consisting of 4-10 oxyethylene groups.
