Abstract A DRY LUBRICANT COATING COMPRISING GRAPHITE FLUORIDE POWDER HAVING A LUBRICATING PROPERTY DISPERSED IN A COATING METAL IS ELECTROPHORETICALLY DEPOSITED ON A SUBSTRATE SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE ELECTROLYTIC DEPOSITION OF THE COATING METAL. THE GRAPHITE FLUORIDE IS PRODUCED BY REACTING CARBON OR GRAPHITE WITH FLUORINE AT A TEMPERATURE OF LOWER THAN 550*C.
