Abstract A METHOD FOR PREPARING ORGANOPOLYSILOXANE-POLYOXYALKYLENE BLOCK COPOLYMERS IN WHICH THE POLYOXYALKYLENE BLOCKS ARE BONDED TO THE ORGANOPOLYSILOXNE BLOCKS BY AN SI-O-BONE, WHICH COMPRISES REACTING IN A FIRST STAGE AN ORGANOPOLYSILOXANE HAVING SILICON-BONDED HYDROXYL GROUPS WITH THE CHLORINE ATOM OR ATOMS OF A POLYOXYALKYLENE COMPOUND AND THEREAFTER REACTING THE SILICONBONDED HYDROGEN ATOMS OF THE REACTION PRODUCT THUS FORMED WITH THE UNREACTED SILICON-BONDED HYDROXYL GROUPS FROM THE FIRST STAGE. THE BLOCK COPOLYMER THUS FORMED ARE USEFUL AS ADDITIVES TO PAINTS, FOAM STABILIZERS FOR POLYURETHANE FOAMS, EMULSIFERS, LUBRICANTS AND THE LIKE.
