Abstract

Abstract The detoxification of monomeric acrylamide in aqueous polyacrylamide gels containing redox catalyst residuum is accomplished by the addition of less than 2/3 mol of a watersoluble non-toxic sulfite per mol of monomeric acrylamide present. The acrylamide is detoxified by conversion to polymer form.
