Abstract
Abstract A bipolar electrolyzer adapted for the electrolysis of aqueous solutions of alkali metal halides is disclosed, as well as methods of operating the electrolyzer. The electrolyzer includes means to maintain a uniform head of anolyte in all of the individual cells, such as by extending pipe means, external of the cells to minimize current leakage and independent of the feed means, to connect the cells below the level of anolyte in each cell.
