Abstract THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF AROMATIC COMPOUNDS BROMINATED ON THE RING PORTION OF NUCLEUS THEREOF AND MORE SPECIFICALLY TO THE PRODUCTION OF SUCH COMPOUNDS HAVING A HIGH MELTING POINT, COMPRISING FORMING A SOLVENTLESS REACTION MIXTURE OF ELEMENTAL BROMINE AND AN AROMATIC COMPOUND AND MAINTAINING THE REACTION MIXTURE DURING THE PERIOD OF REACTION UNDER CONSTANT AGITATION AT A FORCE SUFFICIENT TO INTIMATELY MIX THE REACTANTS AND TO CRUSH SOLID BROMINATED COMPOUNDS FORMED BY THE REACTION.
