Abstract
Abstract An electrode for use in an electrolytic reaction. The electrode has an electrically conductive base, preferably of a film-forming metal, the outside of which is a conductive material other than a film-forming metal, such as a layer of oxide of the base metal, and which is resistant to the electrolyte. At least a portion of the surface of said base has a coating of a mixed crystal material consisting essentially of at least one oxide of a filmforming metal and at least one oxide of a platinum group metal.
