Abstract
Abstract A sewing apparatus and method for securing a fastener between opposed fabric edge portions which automatically transfers and guides the fabric and fastener, as a unit, relative to a relatively stationary sewing machine and needle to form a predetermined generally linear stitching line pattern for securement to the fastener, and in which each edge portion is held in folded and tensioned condition, and in spaced-upon relation to itself during selective portions of the operation to effect precise, uniform stitching.
