Abstract
Abstract A deformable closure for containers of the type having an interior lacquered shell and a sealing liner secured therein. The liner has an outer peripheral annular sealing area and an inner central non-sealing area. The lacquer applied to the shell is composed of a composition to which the liner is poorly adherent. The lacquered shell has applied thereto an adhesion promoting coating which contacts the liner in the non-sealing area and renders the liner portion adherent thereto so that the liner is strongly adherent to the shell in the non-sealing area and poorly adherent to the shell in the sealing area.
