Abstract
Abstract A snap disc is disclosed having peripherally spaced radially extending scallops which stiffen the disc independently of the chord height of the disc. Because of the stiffening scallops it is not necessary to utilize a large chord height when manufacturing a disc for high force or temperature operation. The disc, when formed of bimetal, can operate at high or low temperatures with a narrow temperature differential of operation. Tools for forming the disc with scallops are also disclosed.
