Abstract

Abstract A remote control arrangement for the positioning and drive members, for example, of a printing machine, in which stepping motors are coupled to the positioning or drive members. The stepping motors are controlled by a control network which is responsive to a single input pulse of determined duration for applying a series of successive control pulses to the stepping motors, so that the rotors of the stepping motors are in electrically similar positions, with respect to their stators, before and after each control pulse series. Means are provided for mechanically coupling the stepping motors to their respective positioning and drive members to obtain stepwise axial movement or rotation of the positioning or drive members. An input circuit of the control network may be provided to enable single step movement, continuous movement, or continuous movement for a preselected number of steps.
