Abstract

Abstract A veneer clipper in which the movable knife is driven through a double-action toggle mechanism that is powered by a pair of reciprocable pneumatic motors. The toggle mechanism include two sets of corresponding pivoted joints, with each motor drivingly connected to a different one of such sets. One of the motors is mounted in a nontraveling position on the clipper''s frame, while the other motor is mounted for travel relative to the frame, generally in the same direction as the knife.
