Abstract CEMENTED CARBIDE CUTTERS ARE TREATED WITH BORON CARBIDE AND HYDRIDE OF A REACTIVE OR REFRACTORY METAL AT TEMPERATURES ABOVE 500*C. THIS PROCESS HARDENS THE SURFACE OF THE CUTTER AND DECREASES WEAR IN MACHINING OF VARIOUS METALS.
