Abstract
Abstract A typewriter key lever bearing is rigidly secured to a wall by forming tabs on the end of the bearing which are received in slots formed in the wall and pressed thereagainst by the flexing of a resilient mounting plate in response to the tightening of a clamping device pressing both the mounting plate and the key lever bearing against the wall.

In a business machine, the combination comprising: an elongated key lever bearing for supporting movable key lever mechanisms, wall means for supporting said key lever bearing in said business machine, said key lever bearing having an edge portion for abutting said wall means and tabs formed thereon extending beyond the edge portion, said wall means defining spaced-apart slots with inside and outside edges for receiving the tabs formed on said key lever bearing, resilient means for engaging the tabs received in the slots defined by said wall means, clamping means for clamping said key lever bearing to said wall means, and said resilient means being flexed in response to the clamping movement of said clamping means for resiliently pressing the tabs of said key lever bearing against the outside edges of the slots defined by said wall means so as to rigidly secure said key lever bearing to said wall means.

In a business machine according to claim 1: said resilient means being in the form of a plate portion having resilient arms with intermediate portions thereof being supported against the inside edges of the slots defined by saId wall means, said clamping means being in the form of a threaded portion rigidly secured to said key lever bearing and a threaded screw having a head for engaging the plate portion of said resilient means, and said threaded screw being threadably received in the threaded portion of said key lever bearing for drawing the edge of said key lever bearing against said wall means and drawing the plate portion of said resilient means towards said wall means so as to flex the resilient arms against the inside edges of the slots and press the tabs against the outside edges of the slots.
