Abstract NOVEL DISPERSANT DETERGENTS ARE PROVIDED BY COMBINING AT AN ELEVATED TEMPERATURE, A SULFURIZED ALKYLPHENOL AND A MANNICH BASE--PREPARED FROM FORMALDEHYDE, ALKYLPHENOL, AND A LOWER ALKYL MONOAMINE-IN THE PRESENCE OF N ALKALINE EARTH METAL BASE AND A LIQUID HYDROXYLIC COMPOUND, SO AS TO PREPARE THE ALKALINE EARTH MATAL SALT OF A CHEMICALLY COMBINED SULFURIZED ALKYLPHENOL AND MANNICH BASE. THE COMPOSITIONS WHICH ARE DETERGENT DISPERSANTWS ALSO PROVIDE ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY AND ALKALINITY RESERVE.
