Abstract
Abstract A hand-propelled cart with side wheels, and a rear caster leg foldable under the frame of the cart. The caster leg is freely pivoted and actuated by means of a hand lever to fold, a camming latch operating automatically to lock the caster leg in the folded position. A plunger is located in the rear of the cart, and operates a device when depressed to release the latch and allow the caster leg to drop to standing position; and another latch automatically locks the caster leg in such position.

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim
115 words
The combination with a cart frame, side wheels for the same, an upstanding leg at one end of the frame, and pivot means at such end for folding the leg under the frame; of a frame crossmember, latch means pivoted to the leg and formed with a recess to receive said cross-member and lock the leg from departing in folding direction, and a lever pivoted to the frame and carrying an extension below the pivot directed to the latch means, the raising of the lever causing the extension to impinge on the latch means to first swing the same upwardly and release the cross-member from said recess and further to fold the leg as stated.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
74 words
The structure of claim 1, and means to lock the leg in the folded position, such means comprising a cross-bar carried by the leg, a pendent latch pivoted to the frame and formed as a cam on the bottom to yield to the cross-bar as the leg is folded and receive the same in a pocket, and a spring between the frame and the latch to maintain the latter in the cross-bar locking position.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
53 words
The structure of claim 1, and a spring tensioned by the upswing of the latch means, the leg engaging the cross-member during the unfolding movement, and the spring drawing on the latch means in such event to again locate the cross-member in said recess and restore the leg to the locked upstanding position.
