Claim 1
Independent Claim
92 words
Apparatus for recording and reproducing audio-video information signals comprising: a. means for encoding audio information signals within video information signals and in synchronization with said corresponding video information signals to thereby form a composite audio-video information signal; b. recording means for storing said composite audio-video information signal; c. means for randomly accessing individual segments of said composite audio-video information signals; and d. means for synchronously reproducing said audio and said video information signals, said reproducing means including means for extracting said audio information signals from said segments of said composite audio-video signals.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
50 words
Apparatus as in claim 1 wherein the video information signals are presented as a series of video frames comprising video fields and wherein unique code signals are encoded within each frame of said composite audio-video signals, said accessing means selecting desired segments by addressing the coded frames within said segment.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim

Apparatus as in claim 4 wherein audio information signals corresponding to more than one video field is encoded within said horizontal sync intervals.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
22 words
Apparatus as in claim 3 where audio information signals corresponding to more than one video field is encoded within said sync intervals.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
23 words
Apparatus as in claim 4 wherein audio information signals corresponding to more than one video frame is encoded within said horizontal sync intervals.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
22 words
Apparatus as in claim 3 wherein audio information signals corresponding to more than one video frame is encoded within said sync intervals.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
