Abstract THE REMOVAL OF METAL CONTAINING DEPOSITS FROM NONMETALLIC SUBSTRATES, SUCH AS GLASS, USING SOLUTIONS CONTAINING 0.05 TO 10 PERCENT OXIDIZING AGENT, SUCH AS HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, SODIUM PERBORATE, SODIUM PERSULFATE, POTASSIUM PERSULFATE/AMMONIUM PERSULFATE OR THE LIKE. THE RESULTING METAL CONTAINING SPENT SOLUTION IS EASILY TREATED TO YIELD AN ESSENTIALLY NON-POLLUTING EFFLUENT.
