Abstract
Abstract A lithographic printing plate having an ink-receptive image comprising a hydrophilic colloid binder, an insoluble salt or complex of copper (I) with an oleophilogenic compound, and metallic silver is made by treating a hydrophilic colloid-silver image with an activator containing cupric ions and said oleophilogenic compound. Activators are aqueous solutions containing copper (II) ions and a halogen ion.
