Abstract

Abstract Voltage regulator apparatus for an alternating current electrical system which includes a secondary of a transformer connected in series with the line. A voltage of either polarity or no voltage is applied to the primary of the transformer through a plurality of pairs of inverse parallel connected thyristors. The thyristors are gated in such an order so as to assure commutation of any prior conducting thyristor.
